Doctors’ health

This week’s print BMJ is a research themed issue about doctors’ health and wellbeing. David Payne talks to Michael Peters, of the British Medical Association’s Doctors for Doctors unit, Student BMJ editor Jessie Colquhoun, and a doctor who talks about her own alcohol dependency and the steps she took to tackle it.
As long as medicine is regarded as a young person’s game experience of older doctors will be undervalued.
Last night a treatment for localised cancer was described as involving brand new research. In reality the treatment was commonly used by neurosurgeons 30 years ago.
